Dr. Reddy's creates new drug for Arthritis

Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, is said to have created a new molecule for arthritis patients. FDA trials have begun and are expected to be completed in the next 10 months. The drug is supposed to be a breakthrough in arthritis treatments with a very high level of comfort to the patient.THe drug was discovered by Dr. Reddy's working along with Bombay University's Pharmacological Department have discovered this medicine after 5 years of research. Prof. Patkar, the HOD of the Pharmacology Department, says that this drug is far superior to any of those found in the market today and there is full expectation that this drug will have little or no side effects and will be a boon to most arthritis cases.

This is a definite boost to India's pharma companies who after a long period of consolidation and mergers which compressed the industry from over 50 companies to just 12 in the space of ten years and decreasing margins due to high R&D costs are now back into the growing areas.
