A look into the Past
Our Stockholm Bureau
31 DEC

Researchers at the European Space Agency have concluded that they could be very close to finding out the mystery behind the history of the Earth. Startling photographs from it's latest sattelite into space have led to thoughts that the answer to all these questions were inevitable. The Planck launched in 2006 by ESA was launched with the basic objective of getting a clearer view of distant parts of the universe.

The photographs that have the scientific community in a flutter are those of a universe that look remarkably like the Milky way galaxy. This brings to light the posibility that this could be an image of our own galaxy thrown out millions of centuries ago. There has been a belief amongst astronomists that that light in the Universe moves in mysterious ways, creating multiple images of every bright object inside--including our own Galaxy. They claim that it could be that the Universe is a giant hall of mirrors where you can't always believe your eyes.

If this thought is in fact true then it could answer a lot of questions. It would prove that the universe is finite, and help in extending Einstein's theories of gravity. But the more interesting and weird facts that we may get out of this phenomenon are that we might even be able to watch our own history as it evolves.

The ECA has started taking this angle into view very seriously but all possibilities of this are to be confirmed in the next 6 months with a high level team of experts from over the world now working to examine and test this phenomenon.
