![]() ![]() Virtual Home Shopping Our London Bureau 31 DEC ![]() The sphere consists of jigsaw shaped pieces of translucent polycarbonate, so the image, which is projected from outside the sphere, can shine through to the inside. The sphere rotates on rollers, as the person inside walks and turns. The movement is monitored by a series of tracking balls, located underneath the sphere, and the information is then used by the computer to synchronise the sphere's movement with the projected images. The system has five projectors giving the user a 360 dgree vision. This invention is bound to have an enormous potential. Architects who have been using virtual reality to design buildings will now be able to walk around within a design & actually see how the space feels before it is built. |
